2019 New Year’s Resolutions

Happy 1st day of 2019, everyone! 2018 was such a transformative year for me that was filled with so many wonderful experiences. Some of the highlights from my year include:

  • Ringing in the New Year on a Caribbean Cruise with Justin and his family.
  • Moving in with my boyfriend of 5 years into our first apartment
  • Going on a second cruise to the Caribbean with my family in May
  • Started my second year of graduate school at Maryville University

Since 2018 was such a great year, I decided to share my new year’s resolutions for 2019 with all of you! So here they are:

  • Form better lifestyle habits: This one goes without saying in my opinion. Doesn’t everyone have NY resolutions similar to these? I am usually very good at starting out strong but I sometimes have problems maintaining these habits in the long term.
    • a new skincare routine
    • consistent workout schedule
    • discover some new favorite recipes to meal prep with
  • Spend more time with the people that make your life better
    • 2018 was a year where I gained some wonderful life long friends. But it was also a year where I chose to distance myself from others that caused nothing but heartache. So 2019 is the year where I don’t waste my time on people that do nothing but make me feel bad about myself.
  • Be more spontaneous or adventurous
    • I want to see and do as much as I can in my life. While having plans is a great way to stay organized, it also can keep you from “stopping to smell the roses” so to speak. So here’s do seeing and doing as much as I possibly can!
  • Save more money for big life changes
    • Justin and I are hoping to travel a lot more in the next few years. Some places I am hoping to go in the next few years include the Philippines, Hawaii and Europe. Also, we are still in the discussion stage, but we are considering moving into a townhome or condo after our apartment lease ends in July.
  • Capture more moments on camera and make more unforgettable memories
    • I am seriously so bad at taking photos wherever I am. As a new blogger, I want to document more of my life through photos so I definitely need to get better and remember to take photos!
  • Don’t dwell on the negatives
    • 2019 is the year that I won’t look back at negative situations, feelings or people. It only causes heartache and sadness to focus on the bad in your life. So why not focus on the good?
  • Love yourself fiercely
    • Out of all of my resolutions, this may be the most important one to me. There are times that I doubt myself or find different aspects of myself to hate such as my weight, my face-shape, etc. This year, I am putting myself first and reminding myself that I am strong, beautiful, and can do anything that I put my mind to.
  • Live your best life
    • When you only have one life to live, why not make it the best you can? For the next 365 days, I want to make sure that I am living every life to the fullest.

These are the resolutions that I have so far. What are your New Year’s resolutions?
