Hey everyone, long time no see! I know I haven’t been posting for a while but here is the update on my life this summer.
I’m sorry that I have been MIA for so long but my life was getting a little hectic with school, work, and packing to move out of my parents’ house. Does anyone else ever get the feeling that they’ve taken on too much and that it’s getting difficult to balance everything and allow for self-care? Yeah, that was basically my life for the last two months or so.
So what’s been new with me? Well, I just finished my Health Promotion class; my 5th of the graduate program! While most of my graduate program involved sitting in lecture halls (which I personally prefer) this one was online and boy was it difficult to stay motivated while summer was in full swing. But with the help of my graduate school friends, I manage to pull off an A for the final grade so it was all worth it in the end.
My family and I went on our annual vacation back in June and this time we took a cruise to the Caribbean. We drove to Miami, Florida and then board the cruise ship. From there we went to Coco Cay, Nassau, and the Florida Keys. The weather was amazing and the food was absolutely heavenly. The food was mainly the reason that I now have to work extra hard at the gym because I’ve definitely gained a few extra pounds. 😛 We cruised with Royal Caribbean and they were such a phenomenal company to travel with. This is my third cruise with Royal Caribbean and I can’t say enough good things about them.
Now for the past 6 weeks, I’ve been focusing on my move to a new apartment with Justin! That’s right. I moved out of my parents’ house and decided to take Justin and mine’s relationship to the next level. Whether you move out on your own or with S.O. it is guaranteed to be a crazy stressful mess. To deal with all this of this, I was given this totally awesome planner from a company from Transcending Waves!
I am going to have to talk up this planner for a minute. This classic and simple looking planner is perfect for those who want to actively reach their goals! You can fill in the dates for each monthly calendar page. At first, I was skeptical about spending so much time writing and reflecting in a planner but if you are interested in making some changes in your life, I am telling you, this planner is wonderful! It really helps you to put things into perspective. I also love how you can write down your top goals, why you want to achieve, and how you will go about achieving said goals. In addition to a monthly layout, they have a weekly layout included where you can write down your appointments and other dates.
The daily layout is my favorite because there is a section for a to-do list, goals, affirmations, workout, and things that you are thinking about. The daily layout is the heart of the planner because it focuses on reflection, goal planning, and setting priorities! I personally love this section because on one side of the page, there is a “Morning Plan” and a “Nightly Review” section on the next page. Click here to find out what it’s all about and to look at a few sample pages.
Now I will say that this planner isn’t for everyone. While I love the leather binding and classic look, I do love planners that have inspirational messages or pictures on the cover. Also, there is only a little bit of space to write for each little section so if you tend to write big, you will most definitely run out of room. With that said, if you have small handwriting and love this classic look, this planner would be perfect for you! It’s only $19.99 at www.transcendingwaves.com so its very budget friendly. Also, you can use the code CZERINA at checkout for 10% off!
After 2 weeks at our new place, Justin and I are still slowly settling in. We have the kitchen and dining area mostly unpacked and the bed is set up in the bedroom. We still have some furniture to pick out such as our coffee table and nightstands as well as our home decor, but it’s at least starting to feel a little bit more like home. I can’t wait to get started on decorating. I’m obsessed with home decor and it’ll be fun picking everthing out. Now it’s all about getting into that routine of cooking, cleaning, and budgeting that I am most definitely not looking forward to.
Working at the hospital this summer has been BUSY. The neonatal intensive care unit is packed to the brim with babies and pediatrics has been pretty busy as well. The summers are typically slower on pediatrics but that doesn’t seem to be the case this summer. We’ve been pretty steady. With moving out and paying for bills, I’ve been doing a lot of extra shifts at the hospital. I don’t mind the work really but it definitely does take a toll on the body. That might be one of the reasons why I haven’t had the energy to blog here recently.
Graduate schools starts up again at the end of August so I’ll be enjoying what’s left of my summer vacation until then! I’m hoping to get into a better blogging routine here in the next few weeks. Plus fall is around the corner and I cannot wait to break out the fall outfits. Feel free to follow me on my social media accounts to see more of what I’m up to on the day-to-day.
