Spring 2018 Bucket List

Spring 2018 Bucket List

It’s starting to feel a lot like spring around here! You know…when 50 degrees is considered warm in St. Louis 😀 Anyone else excited for springtime!? To get myself even MORE excited for spring to come, I decided to share my Spring 2018 Bucket List with all of you. I hope you like it!

1. Bake a pie

I’ve always wanted to bake a pie from scratch. I think that pies almost look good to eat especially when you create the pretty lattice-work on top. What if I told you that I have never eaten pie in my life? Because it’s totally true.  It’s not that I’m picky (even though I kind of am) but I find that my top favorite dessert is ice cream and I would take that over pie any day. So if both of those were being served at a dinner or something, I would take the ice cream hands down. But seriously though, if I am to bake a pie from scratch, what type of pie should I bake? Leave your favorite pie flavor and why in the comments I have to have a good flavored pie to eat for my first time!

2. Go on a road trip

Roads trips are always fun! My favorite trips are the ones where everyone is too busy talking, telling stories, or singing at the top of their lungs that nobody is falling asleep in the car. I bet those are Justin’s favorite types of car rides too because he literally gets mad at me because I fall asleep anytime I ride in a car for more than 30 minutes. You can imagine how bored he was on a 10 hour trip to Michigan with my sleeping the whole way!

3. Have a picnic

I always thought it would be fun to bring a picnic to a park and actually eat it on one of those red-and-white-checkered picnic blankets. This one is a definite must in my book!

4. Kiss in the rain

Okay seriously, I know this is incredibly cliche but who cares? It’s a classic in my opinion. April showers bring May flowers so I hope that means I’ll get a chance to get a kiss in the rain WITH photographic evidence. Justin is currently boycotting his new role of insta-boyfriend but he’s going to have to live with it.

5. Watch the sunset

I’m not sure if I have mentioned this yet but I am a hopeless romantic and I am a sucker for both sunrises and sunsets. I think there is something magical, mystifying, and downright beautiful about these times of day. They are gorgeous no matter where you are in the world. So now that it won’t be so cold outside while the sun meets the sky, I definitely want to see some great sunsets!

6. Invest in a fun new spring outfit

With all the cute new clothes coming out this season, it would be hard not to buy multiple spring outfits. Ever since I graduated from nursing schools and started working as a pediatric nurse, my everyday work attire is scrubs and sneakers. My off days typically consist of hanging out with my family, friends and my dog so casual wear is basically all I own. I’m definitely working on branching out and finding out exactly what my style is!

7. Go on a nature hike

Missouri has so many beautiful state parks to visit! This honestly can be a whole separate blog post. But who doesn’t love a little bit of nature in their life? Take your friend or significant other or even your dog and just enjoy an afternoon exercising and getting fresh air.

8. Read a new book

I’m going to be honest. This one is not going to be hard for me to accomplish. I am a huge bookworm.  I’ve already read two in the last two weeks just because I haven’t been able to put them down! Does anyone else love snuggling on a comfy sofa with a warm blanket wrapped around you and a good book in your hands? Maybe I’ll write another post about some of my all-time favorite books or just my current favorites! My favorite genres include fantasy, romance, and murder mysteries.

9. Try out a new restaurant in town

I think it’s fun to try new things, don’t you? This one will allow me to try out a new restaurant and even get to see more of St. Louis than I already have. You can either make this a date with your significant other, a parent or your BFF. It’s like a fun new adventure in your own backyard! The last time I explored my city, a friend and I visited the Twisted Ranch in Soulard. They are known for their wide variety of ranch incorporated sauces and foods. If you know of someone who LOVES ranch on their food, this place is must see so put it on your travel to-do list for visiting St. Louis.

10. See a new movie

Netflix doesn’t count. Neither does streaming. Sorry friends. While those options are simple and convenient, it’s still fun to make a special trip to the movies with your friends to see a movie. There is something about seeing a movie in theatres that is just so fun to me.

There you have it. My Spring 2018 Bucket List! To make it interesting, I plan to update you all in May with photographs to document all the things I manage to check off my list for the season!

Have any of you created a spring bucket list yet? It’s a fun way to make sure that you’re living life to the fullest by taking part in experiences that you have been wanting to have. Leave your comments below about what you are hoping to do this spring! Oh and your favorite southern cities to visit and your favorite pie flavor! 😀

  1. I love that you’ve created a bucket list for a season. Giving yourself a short amount of time surely means you’ll get them done! Great idea! And I vote apple pie because…America. And, I’d love to hear about your favorite books from a fellow bookworm/murder mystery lover!

  2. I can’t wait for spring and to be able to get outside in nature. Books – I’d recommend the Maestra Series by LS HIlton (Which I’ve reviewed on my blog), anything by Liane Moriarty (who wrote Big Little Lies) or all of the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child, which are a billion percent better than the movies!
